Scope: GCC was contracted by Amoroso Construction to deliver facilitated Partnering for the new VA Los Angeles Health Care System Community Living Center, located in Long Beach, California.
Major Stakeholders: Port of Long Beach Project Management Division, Port of Long Beach Construction Management Division, Long Beach Fire Department, the City of Long Beach, Jacobs Engineering, and Pinner Construction.
Project Description: At the Port of Long Beach Berths D50-51,this project constructedanew12,000 square foot Fire Boat Bay Enclosure and metal cladding curtain wall system to include structural steel metal framing, truss assembly, window glazing and louvers, truss frame steel columns, and Quay Wall Repair. The team also delivered an adjacent 9,800 square foot LEED Gold Certified two-story Fireboat Station, including living quarters, apparatus bays, storage, steel roof deck, backup generator and all appurtenances. The project included phasing for continued LBFD Emergency Access, demolition, grading, 16-inch square pile foundation, concrete slab, relocation/new utilities, elevator, security, fire alarm and suppression, network, and commissioning.
