In fiscal year 2019, Congress approved funding for constructing a new approximately 123,100-gross-square-foot federal courthouse in Huntsville, Alabama, for the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Alabama. The new courthouse will include five courtrooms and six judges’ chambers. It will also provide workspace for several other federal agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and the U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services. Once built, the courthouse will have 26 secured parking spaces.
APSI was recently awarded the construction management and commissioning services contract for the new $68 million US Courthouse in Huntsville, Alabama. The 123,000 sf Federal Courthouse includes District, Magistrate, and Bankruptcy courtrooms and office spaces for clerks, U.S. Probation, USMS, and the Bankruptcy Administrator. GSA intends the design of the new courthouse to be neoclassical/Greek Revival in style, in keeping with other recent federal courthouses in the State of Alabama.
