Scope: GCC was contracted by Arupto deliver facilitated Partnering for the new Brownsville Girls Empowerment Center and Community Hubin Brooklyn, NY.
Major stakeholders: Include New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYC DDC), New York City Human Resources Administration, The Lower Eastside Girls Club, Marvel, Gilbane and Arup.
Project Description: The new Brownsville Girls Empowerment Center and Community Hub will include a community club with free, year-round innovative programs in science, technology, art, dance, digital media and sound, wellness, civic engagement and leadership for young women. The Community Hub section of the facility will include a new home for Brooklyn Community Board 16, of rentable office space for community-based organizations and a community garden that will be maintained by a local organization.
