Veteran’s Administration Community Living Center

Scope: GCC was contracted by AmorosoConstruction to deliver facilitated Partnering for thenew VA Los Angeles Health Care System Community Living Center, located in Long Beach, California

Major stakeholders: Including VA-Construction and Facilities Management, West Region, US Army Corps of Engineers, Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN-22), the VA Long Beach Healthcare System, and Amoroso Construction.

Project Description: Within the overall VA Healthcare System, this 3-story community living center provides a pleasant living environment for 120 Veterans in the greater Long Beach area of approximately 180,000 sq. ft., including common areas with fireplaces, natural lighting, and sociable living spaces with walkable gardens.  This facility consists of 10 small community houses with 12 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Each house includes modern technology features as well as a kitchen, lounge/great room, bathing suite, and quiet room. This includes dining, social, and administrative offices. This residential living complex is designed to standards exceeding that of ABAAS, thereby ensuring the health, safety, and security of our Veterans. This facility will be safely delivered to welcome our Nation’s Veterans in 2024.
