Scope: GCC was contracted by Penta Group to deliver facilitated Partnering for the new Puente Hils Landfill Park in Los Angeles County, CA.
Major stakeholders: Including the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, County of Los Angeles Parks & Recreation, Los Angeles County Sanitation District, Penta Group, and HDR.
Project Description: Visitors will start their experience at a park visitor’s center with history and information about the site and environmental educational programming. The center will also accommodate shared office space for LA County Parks & Recreation and the Sanitation Districts, as well as a series of amenities for the community to enjoy. This includes exhibit space, a media lab, and video editing equipment. Entrance improvements will include a modified road system and new pedestrian crosswalks. A new staging area is proposed at the parking area between the Eastern and Southern Deck, as well as improvements at the Workman Mill Staging Area and Trail Head. Adequate space for trailer parking, water station, hitching posts, and shade will be provided.
