Orthopedic Institute For Children

Orthopedic Institute for Children (OIC) renovation project. This project included renovating a 5-story building, including abatement, A/C AHUs replacement, electrical upgrade, fire alarm and firefighting systems upgrade, new elevator, restrooms upgrade, and all ceiling, wall, and floor finishes. GCC provided senior management guidance in supporting the on-site project team to resolve the contractor’s progress issues, cost alignment with the budget, and general guidance to the site team.

The GCC team examined the baseline schedule for contractor discrepancies that threatened the completion of the project on time. Several sessions were held, and revisions to the schedule led to ensuring the project was on track. To meet milestone completion of works, pull planning sessions were conducted, identifying all activities and their prerequisites in relation to each other to ensure each trade is aware of their tasks and reconfirm their commitment to meet the respective timelines. Cost analysis was also conducted to examine the adherence to the contractual Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), enabling the owner better control over the construction contingency budget
