GCC provides Construction Management Services supporting the Veterans Administration Construction and Facilities Management (VA CFM) Team for the Reno Veterans Administration Medical Center at Reno, NV. The project consists of replacing Seismically Deficient Boiler Plant, Building 8. This Design-Build project consists of the construction of an approximately 11,000 GSF Central Utility Plant (CUP), including a main level and mezzanine, housing three fire tube steam boilers, four chillers, and four cooling towers to provide steam heating and cooling for the entire Reno VA campus. In addition to its primary functions, the building will house a control room and support administrative space. The building will also contain the medical center’s bulk oxygen storage room. Ancillary to the overall construction, the project includes paving parking areas adjacent to the new CUP.
The services include assistance in the areas of management, project engineering, planning, scheduling, design reviews, code compliance, testing, record keeping, quality control, cost control, and management oversight of the design & construction program including Fire Protection & Life Safety Engineering reviews. The GCC team monitors the construction for Quality Assurance and provides analysis and identification of incongruities and deficiencies in the contractors’ work in strict accordance with the construction documents. The GCC team also reviews and monitors the baseline schedule and assist in determining the value of the acceptable work in place.
