Louisville VA Medical Center Replacement Hospital

Scope: GCC was contracted Walsh-Turner JV to deliver facilitated Partnering for the Louisville VA Medical Center Replacement Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Major stakeholders: US Department of Veterans Affairs–Construction and Facilities Management Central, US Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District, Smith Group, AECOM, and Walsh-Turner JV.

Project Description: The new Hospital facility will include more than 900,000 square feet of space, with 104 beds and other additions to the property, including sidewalks, roads, two parking garages and a more than 40,000-square-foot utility plant. The new medical center houses both outpatient and inpatient care, with an emphasis on increased outpatient capacity for expanded access to primary care, specialty, surgical, and mental health services. Advancing a comprehensive approach to health, the medical center will facilitate geriatric and extended care, home-based primary care, and a residential substance abuse rehabilitation program.
